Clinical and Angiographic Predictors of No‐Reflow and Its Impact on Outcomes in ST‐Elevation Myocardial Infarction: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 6, June 2026.
In 2925 STEMI patients undergoing primary PCI, no‐reflow occurred in 18% and was predicted by age, diabetes, Killip class, thrombus burden, TIMI 0 flow, and delayed presentation. No reflow was associated with higher mortality, complications, and MACE.

Ultraslow Thrombolysis of Mechanical Tricuspid Prosthetic Thrombosis

open access: yesJACC: Case Reports
Prosthetic heart valve implantation over the past 7 decades has revolutionized treatment of valvular heart disease. Mechanical heart valves, although more durable than a bioprosthesis, require lifelong anticoagulation, with risk of valve thrombosis-a serious, life-threatening complication with high morbidity and mortality. We present a case of ...

Neuroprotective Effects of Phenothiazines on Acute Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
For acute ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion, adjunctive neuroprotective therapy with mechanical thrombectomy is important; however, current treatment options are relatively limited. Phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine and promethazine (C + P) have shown potential neuroprotective effects in preclinical studies.

Treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke: IV Thrombolysis and Beyond [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Intravenous thrombolysis using tissue plasminogen activator is an approved treatment of acute ischemic stroke. However, it has limitation of short therapeutic time window and hemorrhagic complications. This review provides an update of current treatment

Pharmacokinetics and Neuroprotective Efficacy of Poly‐Arginine Peptide R18D in Sprague Dawley Rats Subjected to Transient Intraluminal Filament Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion Stroke

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
The R18D peptide exhibits a favorable pharmacokinetic profile and significantly reduces infarct volume in a rat model of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) followed by reperfusion. These findings highlight the potential clinical utility of R18D as a neuroprotective therapy for stroke patients undergoing endovascular recanalization interventions ...

Serum Uric Acid as a Sex‐Dependent Risk Marker of Post‐Stroke Epilepsy After Acute Ischemic Stroke: Complementary Mendelian Randomization and Cohort Analyses

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
In 21,459 acute ischemic stroke patients, Mendelian randomization found no shared genetic causal link between serum uric acid and epilepsy. Elevated admission uric acid was a robust risk marker for post‐stroke epilepsy in women but not men, with the apparent male protective association sensitive to stratification method.
