Postperfusion lung syndrome: Respiratory mechanics, respiratory indices and biomarkers

open access: yesAnnals of Thoracic Medicine, 2015
Postperfusion lung syndrome is rare but lethal. Secondary inflammatory response was the popularly accepted theory for the underlying etiology. Respiratory index (RI) and arterial oxygen tension/fractional inspired oxygen can be reliable indices for the ...

Non‐Invasive Multidimensional Capacitive Sensing for In Vivo Traumatic Brain Injury Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Single‐electrode, multidimensional capacitive sensors noninvasively assess cerebral autoregulation and compliance for traumatic brain injury monitoring. ABSTRACT Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major cause of death and disability, but invasive intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring is risky, and current non‐invasive methods lack the resolution and ...

Palladium‐Catalyzed Aryloxycarbonylayion of Aryl Bromides with Phenols Using Inositol Hexaformate as an Efficient CO Source

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
We designed a novel carbon monoxide surrogate inositol hexaformate (HFI) and applied it to the palladium‐catalyzed aryloxycarbonylation of aryl bromides with phenols. HFI liberates six molecules of carbon monoxide, exhibiting a significantly higher efficiency and CO capacity than the conventional formate surrogates.
