Mechanical weeding in sugarbeet field

open access: yes, 2020

Climate change effects on biomass and greenhouse gas emissions are ameliorated by nontoxic endophytes in southeastern USA transition zone tall fescue pastures

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
Tall fescue produces more biomass and less carbon dioxide from the soil when it contains its beneficial fungal endophyte. Increased temperatures projected with climate change reduce fescue biomass, while altered rainfall frequency does not. Altering rainfall frequency and increasing temperatures can reduce carbon dioxide emissions from soil.

Evaluation of the Impact of Weed Control Methods on Quantitative and Qualitative Characteristics of Moldavian Balm; A Medicinal Plant

open access: yesActa Technologica Agriculturae, 2016
Moldavian balm is an annual herbaceous plant and its lemon-scented leaves contain essential oil. However, weeds adversely affect its growth by release of allelochemicals, and/or direct competition for nutrient, moisture, light and space.

Mechanical weeding of Rumex obtusifolius L. under different N, P and K availabilities in permanent grassland

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2010
In Europe, Rumex obtusifolius L. is the most problematic grassland weed species, especially under the conditions of organic farming. The aims of this study were (1) to investigate the effectiveness of repeated mechanical weeding of R.

Prevention and control of weeds, pests and diseases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Weed control still requires major investments of money and labour in organic arable farming and field vegetable cultivation. For this reason, current research is focused to a large extent on the development of weed control strategies.

Navigating the future of nano‐pesticides: A perspective on design, efficacy, mechanisms, and environmental stewardship

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Nano‐pesticides are driving a paradigm shift toward sustainable plant protection. This review systematically synthesizes recent advances across four interconnected domains: (i) intelligent formulation design for targeted delivery and controlled release; (ii) interfacial behavior regulation to enhance foliar deposition; (iii) multi‐omics elucidation of ...
