Meta Reinforcement Learning for Automated Cyber Defence

open access: yesApplied AI Letters, Volume 7, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Reinforcement learning (RL) solutions have shown considerable promise for automating the defense of networks to cyber attacks. However, a limitation to their real world deployment is the sample efficiency and generalizability of RL agents. This means that even small changes to attack types require a new agent to be trained from scratch.

Effect of Process Parameters on Friction Properties of AISI 304 Steel Sheet during Strip Drawing Test

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 2, Page 955-966, February 2026.
This study investigates how drawing process parameters affect the tribological behavior of AISI 304 steel sheet. Under lubricated conditions, increasing normal force, drawing speed, and countersamples roughness reduces the coefficient of friction by up to 21%.

Outsourced eye care in the Finnish capital region: Switching from fee‐for‐service to bundled payment model

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 104, Issue 1, Page 114-129, February 2026.

Debt Ceilings With Fiscal Intransparency and Imperfect Electoral Accountability

open access: yesInternational Economic Review, Volume 67, Issue 1, Page 97-125, February 2026.
ABSTRACT We study optimal debt ceilings in a political‐agency model with uncertainty about both policymaker type (benevolent or selfish) and economic state (good or bad). Elections generate disciplining and selection effects that differ across pooling, hybrid, and separating equilibria induced by different ceilings.
