Study on mechanism of mechanical activation
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 1997A mixture of ilmenite and graphite with a mass ratio (1:1) was ball milled at room temperature and subsequently annealed under Ar flow. The enhanced carbothermic reactions were monitored by using thermogravimetric analysis and X-ray diffraction analysis.

Studies of the Mechanism of Postgastrectomy Steatorrhea
Annals of Internal Medicine, 1962Excerpt Previous studies by the authors and others have suggested an analogy between postgastrectomy steatorrhea and the malabsorption associated with the blind loop syndrome.

STUDIES ON THE MECHANISM OF DECIDUALIZATION. V.
Acta Endocrinologica, 1963ABSTRACT The uteri of pseudopregnant rats show a peak of metabolic activity on the 4th and 5th day of leucocytic smear. After the administration of 20 mg of pyrathiazine Cl on the 4th day of pseudopregnancy (L4) in order to induce decidualization of the progestational endometrium, the metabolic activity of the uterus becomes intensified.

Quantum Mechanics/Molecular Mechanics Study of the Sialyltransferase Reaction Mechanism
Biochemistry, 2016The sialyltransferase is an enzyme that transfers the sialic acid moiety from cytidine 5'-monophospho-N-acetyl-neuraminic acid (CMP-NeuAc) to the terminal position of glycans. To elucidate the catalytic mechanism of sialyltransferase, we explored the potential energy surface along the sialic acid transfer reaction coordinates by the hybrid quantum ...

Study of the mechanism of amorphization by mechanical alloying
Materials Letters, 1987Abstract Amorphous NixNbx−1 powders were prepared by mechanical alloying for 0.2 ⩽ x ⩽ 0.8. The structural refinement during milling was studied by optical and electron microscopic examinations. The data are in good agreement with Benjamin's model. Transmission electron micrographs give the first direct evidence that the mechanism of amorphization by

STUDIES ON THE MECHANISM OF DECIDUALIZATION
Reproduction, 1963Summary. A single intraperitoneal injection of pyrathiazine induces extensive decidualization of the progravid uterus of the rat. This action was considered to be mediated by the release of histamine. The present study was undertaken to show that pyrathiazine, an antihistaminic drug, causes histamine release ...

A study of the mechanism of pinocytosis
Experimental Cell Research, 1958Abstract 1. 1. The morphology of living amoebae during pinocytosis is described. These observations are correlated with observations on stained sections of amoebae fixed during pinocytosis. 2. 2. Immediately before pinocytosis, wrinkling of the plasmalemma was observed.

Studies on the Mechanism of Action of Diphenylhydantoin
Archives of Neurology, 1970IN EXPERIMENTS reported in 1955, Woodbury 1 demonstrated in normal rats that the intracellular concentration of brain sodium was slightly diminished by diphenylhydantoin but that the uptake of sodium S24 into the brain was increased by this drug. These two facts taken together, he reasoned, could only be explained if diphenylhydantoin increased the ...

A Study of the Discharge Mechanism of ZnO
Applied Optics, 1969The discharge of negatively charged ZnO powder samples has been measured. The shape of the recorded discharge curves predicts a charge decay which is governed by two different mechanisms. Experiments with a point counter indicate that there is emission of negative charge during the first minutes of the discharge in the dark, as well as under ...

Mechanical studies of the esophageal function
Dysphagia, 1993The discussion centers on the use of mechanical principles, mathematical modeling, and concurrent manometric and videofluoroscopic data to study the esophageal function. Basic principles of mechanics indicate that intrabolus pressure must be distinguished from the direct contractile squeeze of the circular muscle on the manometric assembly.
