Role of mechanization in reducing food loss and waste in China : a case study for grain crops [PDF]
Reducing food loss and waste at all stages from farm to plate is a major priority of the global development agenda. This study examines loss and waste for the main grain crops in China and analyses the role of sustainable agricultural mechanization in ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Access and Intensity of Mechanization: Empirical Evidence of Rice Farmers in Southern Ghana
The medium term development plan of Ghana proposed modernization of agriculture to lead the way in transforming the economy. Providing irrigation infrastructure and enhancing farmer access to farm machinery were major interventions proposed. In line with

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Systems development in agricultural mechanization with special reference to soil tillage and weed control : a case study for West Africa [PDF]
IntroductionMechanization in West Africa has been of limited importance and influence for farming and manual labour is the dominant power input. At present only about 0.07 kW per ha is applied, while at least about 0.37 kW is desirable to obtain high ...

Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Assessment of mechanization status for some major crop value chains in Ghana
Mechanization of agriculture is widely accepted as a means to raise agricultural output and ensure sufficient food supplies. Previous failed attempts to mechanize Ghana's agriculture have been linked to a failure on the part of policymakers to recognize ...
