External Stimuli‐Activable Single‐Atom Nanozymes for Bioapplications

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Stimuli‐activable single‐atom nanozymes (SANs) are reviewed from materials design to biomedical applications. We explain electronic‐structure tuning principles and synthesis strategies that maximize the responsiveness of metal active sites and supports to light, ultrasound, and magnetic fields.

Controlled Triazine‐Based Covalent Functionalization of Black Phosphorus for Degradable Hybrid Materials

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A scalable triazine‐based covalent functionalization strategy of black phosphorus nanosheets provides controlled P‐N surface chemistry with enhanced grafting density in the presence of a phase‐transfer catalyst. As a representative example, BP‐sulfated polymer conjugates exhibit strong in vitro antiviral activity against enveloped viruses and ...

Spin‐Correlated Luminescence of Mechanically Generated Radical Species

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 19, 4 May 2026.
A mechanofluorochromic tetraarylsuccinonitrile derivative substituted with bulky triarylmethane groups was synthesized. The mechanochemically generated radical showed red emission and a magnetic field effect on luminescence. ABSTRACT A tetraarylsuccinonitrile (TASN) derivative (12) substituted with bulky triarylmethane groups dissociated into ...

Mechanochemical Transformation From Zigzag‐Type Layered/Phenakite to Disordered Rocksalt in Mn‐Rich Cathodes for Li‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Mechanochemical activation drives the transformation of a Mo/F‐modified layered/phenakite precursor into a Mn‐rich disordered rocksalt phase. The resulting disordered rocksalt structure improves cation mobility and structural reversibility during cycling, enabling higher reversible capacity and enhanced electrochemical performance.

The Spot‐Dam Technique: A Protocol for Adhesive Cementation of BOPT Crowns

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The Biologically Oriented Preparation Technique (BOPT) uses vertical tooth preparation without a defined finish line, guided by provisional restorations to shape the gingival emergence profile. Subgingival crown margins inherent to BOPT increase the risk of residual cement and soft‐tissue trauma during adhesive cementation.

Fish welfare in a changing world: New developments and current challenges

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract The welfare of non‐human animals is central to ethical discussions on animal use, with increasing attention to fish welfare across research, aquaria, aquaculture, and fisheries. This paper reviews current theoretical approaches to animal welfare and recent advances in defining and assessing fish welfare since the seminal paper by Huntingford ...

Static recrystallization of shocked calcite in Ries impact breccias

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Calcite is prone to chemical and microstructural modifications, especially after having been strained at high stresses and strain rates, as during hypervelocity impact events. These modifications include precipitation from pore fluid as well as replacement of strained volumes by recrystallization. In calcite aggregates of a metagranite breccia
