Structural changes in silver iodide upon mechanochemical treatment
Glass Physics and Chemistry, 2012Finely dispersed powder of AgI has been investigated using the mechanochemical method. The crystal size was determined by scanning electron microscopy, and the crystal element composition was estimated using X-ray microanalysis. The diameter of powder particles was 500–1000 nm. Their surface is characterized by an expressed faceting attributable to the

Effects of Mechanochemical Treatment on Yttrium Oxyapatite Formation
Journal of Materials Synthesis and Processing, 2001Structural changes of Y2O3-SiO2 solid system during a fine milling in air were investigated. The milling of a mixture in a molar ratio Y2O3/SiO2 = 7/9 affect the structure of the solids. After heating the samples at T > 1000°C new phases were obtained by a thermal reaction between Y2O3 and SiO2, as a result of the mechanochemical activation. The extent

Novel Waste Processing by Means of Mechanochemical Treatment
Materials Science Forum, 2007As the extension of mineral processing, recycling metals from wastes is very important for a sustainable society. We have been working on mechanochemistry and its engineering applications. One of the applications is to recover and separate useful components from different kinds of wastes emitted in our society.

Surface chemical modification of fullerene by mechanochemical treatment
Applied Surface Science, 2009In this study different encapsulating agents have been used for chemical modification of fullerenes. Fullerenes have reacted with tetrahydrofuran, sodium dodecyl sulfate, sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate and ethylene vinyl acetate–ethylene vinyl versatate at room temperature under mechanical milling.

Structural-Phase Changes of Graphite during Mechanochemical Treatment
Key Engineering Materials, 2018Studied the structure and phase changes in graphite MPG-7 depending on time of mechanochemical treatment (MCT) in high-speed ball mill at different rotation frequencies. The formation of the carbon material with amorphous and diamond-like component shows. Note the spontaneous combustion of the carbon powder after 8 hours of the MCT at 1500 rpm.

Pozzolan Obtained by Mechanochemical Treatment of Kaolinite Clay
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2011Pozzolans are supplementary materials added to Portland cement in order to increase the mechanical strength and durability of concrete structures. A number of thermal, mechanical and chemical methods have been used to activate the reactive potential of pozzolanic materials.

Mechanochemical Ablation in the Treatment of Varicose Veins
Journal of Venous DisordersCorrection of venous reflux via resection of veins (stripping), thermal (laser, radiofrequency) ablation, as well as various options for medicinal and mechanical exposure is currently one of the fundamental principles in the treatment of varicose veins. Thermal ablation is the «gold standard» for saphenous veins. This procedure results stable occlusion

Mechanochemical treatment of contaminated marine sediments for PAHs degradation
2007Mechanochemical (MC) treatment for degrading recalcitrant harmful PAH compounds (namely, anthracene and benzo[a]pyrene) adsorbed on marine sediments was investigated in laboratory. Optimal operating conditions (i.e ., mill rotation speed, milling time, milling-to-milled mass ratio), together with explanation of their physical effects on sediment ...
