Advancing Upcycling and Regeneration of Spent LiFePO4: Failure Mechanisms and Recovery Strategies

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
This review studies the failure mechanism to promote the upcycling regeneration of spent lithium iron phosphate (S‐LFP). It first summarizes the failure mechanisms of LFP batteries revealed via advanced characterization technologies and then explores the respective advantages and challenges of hydrometallurgy and direct regeneration methods.

Bayesian Optimization of Solvent‐Free Thermal Amidation via Reactive Extrusion

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Thermal amidation between a carboxylic acid and an amine was successfully conducted in an extruder in the absence of solvent, coupling agent, or catalyst, relying on an adapted Bayesian Optimization protocol. Active pharmaceutical ingredient moclobemide was synthesized on a larger scale, achieving excellent yield and low Process Mass Intensity (PMI ...

Opportunities and Challenges in Applying Solid‐State NMR Spectroscopy in Organic Mechanochemistry

open access: yesAdvances in Materials, 2023
In recent years it is shown that mechanochemical strategies can be beneficial in directed conversions of organic compounds. Finding new reactions proved difficult, and due to the lack of mechanistic understanding of mechanochemical reaction events ...

Development Of The Extraction Method Of Inactive Forms Of Pectin Substances From Fruits To Easy-digestible Active Form During The Obtaining Of Nanofood [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The aim of the work is development of a unique method for deep processing of fruits and vegetables with a high content of sparingly soluble pectin substances, which makes it possible to remove pectic substances from inactive form and transform them into ...

Strain Release of 1‐Azabicyclo[1.1.0]butanes as a Gateway to Highly Functionalized Azetidines: New Strategies and Structural Motifs

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Over the past decade, the interest in azetidines has continuously risen, by virtue of their highly appealing pharmaceutical properties. Monocyclic, spirocyclic, and bridged azetidines can be accessed by leveraging 1‐azabicyclo[1.1.0]butanes as precursors.

Tandem Reactivity of Metal−Carbon and Carbon−Silicon Bonds in Mononuclear α‐Silyl Organolithium or Organosodium Complexes Towards CO, CO2 and Heteroallenes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 21, 18 May 2026.
Anionic α‐silyl alkyl is one of the most used organometallic building blocks and funtional groups. Traditionally, the C─Si bond in these complexes is considered as inert. In this work, we report a series of reactions between mononuclear organo‐lithium and ‐sodium complexes with CO, CO2, or heteroallenes.

The Mechanochemistry of Molecular Motors [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2000
A theory of molecular motors is presented that explains how the energy released in single chemical reactions can generate mechanical motion and force. In the simplest case the fluctuating movements of a motor enzyme are well described by a diffusion process on a two-dimensional potential energy surface, where one dimension is a chemical reaction ...

Post‐LECA Origin and Diversification of an Axonemal Outer Arm Dynein Motor

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Dyneins were present in the last eukaryotic common ancestor (LECA) and play key roles in eukaryotic biology. Axonemal dyneins form the inner and outer arms that power ciliary beating, and it has long been recognized that outer arms in some organisms contain two different heavy chain motors, whereas those from other species contain a third unit

Thermal Properties and Ionic Conductivity of Tetra-n-Butylammonium Perchlorate

open access: yesCrystals, 2022
The thermal parameters of the phase transitions and transport properties of tetra-n-butylammonium (TBA) perchlorate (n-C4H9)4NClO4 (TBAClO4) were investigated. TBAClO4 has a polymorphous transition at 330 K and melts at 487 K.

Functional Polymers Through Mechanochemistry [PDF]

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2019
Abstract: While coupling mechanical and chemical processes is widespread in living organisms, the idea to harness the mechanically induced dissociation of weak covalent and non-covalent bonds to create artificial materials that respond to mechanical stimulation has only recently gained attention.
