Mechanochromic Luminescence of Fluorenyl‐Substituted Ethylenes

Chemistry – An Asian Journal, 2014
AbstractIt has been reported several times that some organic luminogens with aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) characteristics exhibit the abnormal phenomenon of crystallization‐induced blueshift fluorescence, which makes them suitable for utilization as luminescence color‐switching materials.

Luminescent Mechanochromic Porous Coordination Polymers

Chemistry – A European Journal, 2014
AbstractThree 2D luminescent isomeric porous coordination polymers are synthesized and characterized. Their luminescence properties can be modified by grinding and they can act as mechanochromic materials and their properties are probably related to the weak interactions of cuprophilicity and π–π interactions.

Poly(4-vinylpyridine) and Poly(methacrylic acid) Particle Architectures for pH-Responsive and Mechanochromic Opal Films.

ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces
While stimuli-responsive structural colors are commonly found in nature, mimicking these in artificial materials is challenging. Dynamically switchable and tunable coloration, however, is in high demand in widespread fields of applications, including ...

Mechanochromic Polymers That Turn Green Upon the Dissociation of Diarylbibenzothiophenonyl: The Missing Piece toward Rainbow Mechanochromism

Chemistry – A European Journal, 2018
AbstractMechanochromic polymers, that is, polymers sensitive to mechanical impact, promise great potential for applications in damage sensors. In particular, radical‐type mechanochromic polymers, which produce colored radical species in response to mechanical stress, may enable not only the visualization of mechanical stress, but also its quantitative ...

Ligand Detachment—New Insight into the Mechanochromic Luminescence Mechanism of Copper Iodide Complexes with Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence

Advanced Optical Materials
Mechanochromic luminescence materials have recently attracted increasing interest due to its promising applications, but the intensive inquiry of the mechanochromic luminescence mechanism is still insufficient. Herein, an in‐depth study of mechanochromic

Polymerization-induced highly brilliant and color-recordable mechanochromic photonic gels for ink-free patterning.

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science
Mechanochromic photonic crystals (MPCs) are extremely attractive since they can adjust their structural color by forces. However, the poor color saturation and color-recordability of conventional MPCs significantly limit their practical applications ...

Mechanochromic Chameleon Packaging Based on Polydiacetylene

ACS Sensors
We demonstrated a mechanochromic chameleon packaging that quantitatively visualizes damage based on the polydiacetylene blue-to-red color transition. The applied pressures on the damage can be conveniently read by taking a photograph via a homemade mobile app called the "Pressure Analysis App".
