Pharmacokinetics of medetomidine.
Acta veterinaria Scandinavica. Supplementum, 1989The pharmacokinetics of medetomidine administered as a single dose (80 micrograms/kg) were studied in rat, dog and cat with the tritium labelled drug. The results showed a rapid distribution, after an s.c. dose, of medetomidine radioactivity into rat tissues including the brains.

The aim of the study was intended to evaluate the effects of metedomidine-isoflurane and metedomidine-sevoflurane anaesthesia on haemodynamic, biochemical parameters and intraocular pressure. A total of 12 healty horses with mean body weights 438+ 51 kg, divided into two groups were used as a study materials.
