Precise Control of Drug Release in Machine Learning‐Designed Antibody‐Eluting Implants for Postoperative Scarring Inhibition in Glaucoma

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a micro‐sized, biocompatible implant for postoperative sustained delivery of anti‐fibrotic antibodies in glaucoma surgery. Machine learning‐guided optimization of polymer composition, implant geometry, and porosity enabled precise control of drug release.

EXPLORE THE SYNERGISM OF SEDATIVE DOSE MEDETOMIDINE WITH TRAMADOL TO INDUCE ANALGESIC EFFECTS IN RABBITS [PDF]

open access: yesBasrah Journal of Veterinary Research, 2016
The study was designed to evaluate the analgesic effects of Medetomidine and Tramadol in rabbits, to detect the best dose (as onset and duration) for antinociceptive in this model, also evaluate the antinociceptive effect as sedative doses in these drugs

Cardiopulmonary Effects of Medetomidine-Midazolam and Medetomidine-Midazolam-Atipamezole in Laboratory Pigs.

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Medical Science, 1994
The cardiopulmonary effects of medetomidine (40 micrograms/kg)-midazolam (0.2 mg/kg) and medetomidine (40 micrograms/kg)-midazolam (0.2 mg/kg)-atipamezole (160 micrograms/kg) were evaluated in laboratory pigs. The intramuscular administration of medetomidine-midazolam caused a pressor response, characterized by a rapid increase in arterial and ...

Plasma‐Polymerized Nanoparticles Presenting Fibrillin‐1 Drive Rapid Re‐Endothelialization of Vascular Grafts

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Commercial vascular grafts are made from ePTFE, a highly hydrophobic, foreign material that fails at a high rate in small‐diameter applications. Plasma polymer nanoparticles (PPN) are a versatile material functionalisation tool, used here to present fibrillin‐1 fragment PF8 on the graft surface.

Gentamicin‐Loaded Carbonate Apatite with Dual Antibacterial and Osteogenic Functions for Combating Surgical Site Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A bone substitute with gentamicin physically precipitated onto the surface of carbonate apatite exhibits prompt drug release, high bactericidal activity, and osteogenic capacity. Efficient antibacterial activity mitigates early postoperative neutrophil accumulation, the status of which may serve as a potential parameter for evaluating the antibacterial

Allosteric Modulation of Pathological Ataxin‐3 Aggregation: A Path to Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type‐3 Therapies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a new allosteric site in the Josephin domain of ataxin‐3 targeted by the molecular tweezer CLR01, which modulates protein aggregation, improves synaptic function in neuronal cells, and delays motor dysfunction in animal models.

Nurr1 Orchestrates Claustrum Development and Functionality

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nurr1 (Nr4a2) is the master transcription factor to control claustrum morphogenesis and cell fate decision postmitotically by inhibiting intracellular G‐protein signaling. Nurr1 deficiency alters the transcriptomic profiles of subcortical claustral neurons into neocortical insular neurons, resulting in defected claustrum development, impaired axonal ...
