2D View Aggregation for Lymph Node Detection Using a Shallow Hierarchy of Linear Classifiers [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
Enlarged lymph nodes (LNs) can provide important information for cancer diagnosis, staging, and measuring treatment reactions, making automated detection a highly sought goal. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm representation of decomposing the LN detection problem into a set of 2D object detection subtasks on sampled CT slices, largely ...

Myocardial infarction primes autoreactive T cells through activation of dendritic cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Peripheral tolerance is crucial for avoiding activation of self-reactive T cells to tissue-restricted antigens. Sterile tissue injury can break peripheral tolerance, but it is unclear how autoreactive T cells get activated in response to self. An example

The association between additional radiotherapy after systemic chemotherapy and the prognosis of stage FIGO 2018 IVB cervical cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Systemic platinum‐based chemotherapy is the first‐line treatment of choice for metastatic cervical cancer. While subsequent radiotherapy after primary chemotherapy is a potential option, its benefit remains unclear. This multicenter retrospective study aimed to evaluate whether post‐chemotherapy radiotherapy improves the prognosis of

Factors related to the diagnosis of lung cancer by transbronchial biopsy with endobronchial ultrasonography and a guide sheath

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 13, Issue 24, Page 3459-3466, December 2022., 2022
The present study showed that size of targeted lesion, especially diameter ≥20 mm, the bronchus sign, and detection on EBUS imaging were significant contributors to making the diagnosis of lung cancer by TBB with EBUS‐GS. In addition, the odds ratio (OR) of detection on EBUS imaging for the diagnosis of lung cancer with EBUS‐GS tended to be higher than

75Se-selenomethionine scintigraphy in mediastinal diseases

open access: yesThe Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 1978
Chest scanning with 75Se-selenomethionine was performed in 59 cases of mediastinal diseases. All cases of vascular diseases, cystic tumors, and benign neurogenic tumor were negatively scanned. Parenchymatous teratoma, thymoma, malignant lymphoma, Castleman's tumor, epithelial tumors, tuberculous lymphadenitis, and sarcoidosis showed high positive rates.

The Diagnostic Accuracy of Chest CT in the Detection of Tumor and Nodal Status in Non Small Cell Lung Carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
At this time there is an increasing demand for an accurate pre operative staging in non small cell lung cancer. Chest Computed Tomography (CT) is one of the imaging modality of choice used for this purpose.
