Precision Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy for Ultra‐Central NSCLC: Tailored Margins Reduce Toxicity Without Compromising Tumor Control

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
A tailored non‐uniform PTV strategy (including PTVcrop and PTV_high/PTV_low) was used in SBRT for ultra‐central NSCLC to meet stringent OAR constraints. Notably, this SBRT strategy achieved favorable clinical outcomes, with an 84.6% 3‐year local control rate, a median PFS of 42.9 months. Additionally, treatment‐related toxicity was mild, with only 1.5%
