Rapid hormonal rise in honey bees due to heat‐shock is mitigated by a primer pheromone
Insect Science, EarlyView.We show that honey bee foragers increased juvenile hormone (JH) titers significantly after heat‐shocked for 1 h at 40 °C, but this increase is dependent on social conditions. Increase of JH titers only happened when bees were isolated (one worker bee per vial) but not in groups.

Effect of the microbiome on pathogen susceptibility across four Drosophilidae species
Insect Science, EarlyView.Four Drosophilidae species were used to investigate how variation in the host microbiome influences susceptibility to infection. Microbial composition and abundance differed among species and treatments. The effects of microbiome manipulation on host survival were both species‐ and pathogen‐specific.

Insect Science, EarlyView.In this study, we examined whether realistic ozone concentrations can interfere with sexual communication in the insect pest Plutella xylostella, the diamondback moth. Ozone exposure caused a degradation of pheromone components, leading to significant changes in blend composition and component ratios.
