Static IMRT and VMAT planning on 6 MV Flattened and Flattening-Filter-Free Beams of a TrueBeam VirtuaLinac System [PDF]
In this manuscript, we investigated the accuracy of the entire chain of phase space files generated by the TrueBeam VirtuaLinac system in clinical treatment plans. Good agreement was obtained between the MC simulation and the clinical golden data for both flattened and FFF beams.

Antimagnets: Controlling magnetic fields with superconductor-metamaterial hybrids [PDF]
Magnetism is very important in science and technology, from magnetic recording to energy generation to trapping cold atoms. Physicists have managed to master magnetism - to create and manipulate magnetic fields- almost at will. Surprisingly, there is at least one property which until now has been elusive: how to 'switch off' the magnetic interaction of

On the birefringence of healthy and malaria-infected red blood cells [PDF]
We have probed how the birefringence of a healthy red blood cell (RBC) changes as it becomes infected by a malarial parasite. By analyzing the polarization properties of light transmitted through a single, optically-trapped cell we demarcate two types of birefringence: form birefringence which depends on the shape of the cell and intrinsic ...
