Medical physics and medical engineering in the UK
Medical Engineering & Physics, 1994Changes in the way health care is delivered in the UK are having a direct impact on medical physics and medical engineering services. To help understand how these services are managed and how they might be affected by such changes, a questionnaire was circulated to 110 UK medical physics/medical engineering departments.

Medical physics in Nottinghamshire
Journal of Medical Engineering & Technology, 1981Medical physics services in Nottinghamshire are provided by staff grouped into three local departments giving the benefit of localised ‘personal service’ to the staff of the major hospitals in each district, but backed up by the resources of a larger group. The reasons and implications of this organisation, unique in the UK, are discussed.

Cyber-Physical Medical and Medication Systems
2008 The 28th International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems Workshops, 2008Medical and medication devices are real-time systems with safety and timing requirements. They range from hard-real-time, embedded, and reactive systems such as pacemakers to soft-real-time, stand-alone medication dispensers. Many of these devices are already connected to computer networks, especially in hospital intensive-care units, so that patients'

A-level Physics: Medical Physics
Physics Education, 1996One of the advantages of the new crop of A-level syllabuses has been the introduction of optional material allowing students to probe into new territory as well as maintaining some deeper exploration along well-worn pathways. Medical physics has proved a very popular topic; several syllabuses include sections on the physics of the human body, and on ...
