This work explores the process of morning awakening of the human brain using polysomnography paired with simultaneous stereo‐electroencephalography, a method that provides high spatial and temporal resolution for examining brain activity. Awakening is characterized by an increase in high‐frequency spectral power and connectivity.

By investigating auditory hyperexcitability in a mouse model for hereditary deafness, this study identified a subpopulation of afferent neurons of the auditory nerve marked by Otogl expression. Despite their apparently normal hearing, Otogl+/− mice display poor activation of afferent neurons processing loud sounds and an elevation of the middle the ear

Optimizing Automatic Summarization of Long Clinical Records Using Dynamic Context Extension:Testing and Evaluation of the NBCE Method [PDF]
Summarizing patient clinical notes is vital for reducing documentation burdens. Current manual summarization makes medical staff struggle. We propose an automatic method using LLMs, but long inputs cause LLMs to lose context, reducing output quality especially in small size model.

Delivery of A Chemically Modified Noncoding RNA Domain Improves Dystrophic Myotube Function
CYTOR is a pro‐myogenic ncRNA in skeletal muscle. Here, chemical probing of CYTOR, coupled with functional cellular assays identifies exon 2 as an independent myogenic RNA domain. Chemical engineering of CYTOR exon 2 RNA improves pharmacologic properties, including RNA stability and cell‐autonomous immunogenicity.

KidneyTalk-open: No-code Deployment of a Private Large Language Model with Medical Documentation-Enhanced Knowledge Database for Kidney Disease [PDF]
Privacy-preserving medical decision support for kidney disease requires localized deployment of large language models (LLMs) while maintaining clinical reasoning capabilities. Current solutions face three challenges: 1) Cloud-based LLMs pose data security risks; 2) Local model deployment demands technical expertise; 3) General LLMs lack mechanisms to ...

Berberine is a Novel Mitochondrial Calcium Uniporter Inhibitor that Disrupts MCU‐EMRE Assembly
Berberine, a safe and FDA‐approved drug, is identified as a novel mitochondrial calcium uniporter (MCU) inhibitor. By disrupting MCU‐EMRE interaction, Berberine prevents mitochondrial calcium overload and protects against ischemia/reperfusion injury, offering a promising therapeutic strategy for diseases linked to mitochondrial calcium dysregulation ...
