Measurement of trace elements in five popular medicinal plants using Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis method (INAA) in Arak, Iran [PDF]
In this work, the specific mass of twelve elements were determined in five of the most commonly used medicinal plants as Caraway (Carum carvi), Savory (Satureia hortensis), Purslane (Portulaca oleracea), Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) and Milk thistle (Silibum marianum) prepared from herbal pharmacies.

Crosstalk between gut microbiota and tumor: tumors could cause gut dysbiosis and metabolic imbalance
In this research, we analyzed the relationship between gut microbiota and tumor. We discovered that both subcutaneous and metastatic tumors would alter the composition and metabolic function of gut microbiota. Meanwhile, fecal microbiota transplantation also indicated the anti‐tumor role of the gut microbiota, revealing the crosstalk between tumor and ...

This study simultaneously investigated circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and exosomes from small‐cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients. The elevated expression of JUNB and CXCR4 in CTCs was a poor prognostic factor for SCLC patients, whereas exosomal overexpression of these biomarkers revealed a high discrimination ability of patients from healthy individuals,

This study explores how sepsis affects GC progression by creating an immunosuppressive environment. Our findings reveal that sepsis promotes immune dysregulation, enhancing tumor growth and metastasis. Targeting the PD‐1/PD‐L1 pathway with monoclonal antibodies shows potential for restoring immune function and improving outcomes in cancer patients ...

Consensus molecular subtypes (CMS1‐4) have been identified to study colorectal cancer heterogeneity and serve as potential biomarkers. In this study, we developed and evaluated NanoCMSer, a NanoString‐based classifier using 55 genes, optimized for FF and FFPE to facilitate the clinical evaluation of CMS subtyping.

Tumor microenvironment drives cancer formation and progression. We analyzed the role of human cancer‐associated adipocytes from patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) stratified as lean, overweight, or obese. RNA‐seq demonstrated that, among the most altered genes involved in the tumor–stroma crosstalk, are ADAM12 and CYP1B1, which were proven to be ...

Mesoscopic Models of Plants Composed of Metallic Nanowires [PDF]
Various metallic structures of complex shape resembling living plant organisms (biomimetics) are produced as a result of selfassembly of nanowires growing on porous membranes in the course of pulse current electrodeposition. These structures occur if the electroplating is continued after the nanowires appear on the membrane surface.
