Global Model Estimates of Atmospheric Al, Ca, Fe, Si, and Ti From Dust and Non‐Dust Aerosols Informed by EMIT Surface Mineralogy and Evaluated Against Observations

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Atmospheric deposition of micro‐nutrients like Fe has been shown to be important for ocean biogeochemistry. The largest source of atmospheric Fe and other elements (e.g., Ca, Al, Si, and Ti) is desert dust, although there are significant non‐dust sources in some regions (e.g., combustion, sea salts, volcanoes). However, past estimates of these

Dual Role of Ti3C2Tx MXene in Li–S Batteries: Cathode Additive and Separator Modifier for Enhanced Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 29, 9 April 2026.
Ti3C2Tx MXene has been novelly proposed as a simultaneous bifunctional material in Li‐S battery cathodes and separators. The synergistic effect of this material demonstrates significant improvements in electrochemical performance, reaching initial areal capacity values close to 6 mAh cm−2 with ultra‐high sulfur loading of 9 mg cm−2 and ultra‐high ...

Pan‐Continental Genomic Analysis of Eurasian Perch Uncovers Global Diversity Hotspots and Postglacial Recolonization Patterns

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
We reconstructed the postglacial recolonization history of Eurasian perch using mitochondrial and nuclear genomic data spanning Europe and Western Siberia. The analyses revealed multiple glacial refugia and extensive secondary admixture, reflecting a dynamic history of range expansion and contact among divergent lineages.

La protección medioambiental como criterio en la selección de inversiones socialmente responsables: una aproximación multicriterio

open access: yesEconomía Agraria y Recursos Naturales, 2015
La mayor concienciación medioambiental y ética de empresas y organizaciones se traslada también a la selección de carteras. En esta nota se propone un modelo multicriterio de programación por metas para la selección de carteras incorporando a los ...

Symbiosis‐associated UMAMIT transporters required for establishing efficient nitrogen fixation in Medicago truncatula

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 1, Page 530-546, April 2026.
Summary To address a critical gap in understanding amino acid transport in legume–Rhizobium symbiosis, we investigated the role of symbiosis‐associated USUALLY MULTIPLE ACIDS MOVE IN AND OUT TRANSPORTERS (UMAMITs) in Medicago truncatula nodulation.

Do's and Don'ts When Visiting Circularly Polarized Luminescence

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 11, 20 March 2026.
This perspective presents our insights into the principles, challenges, and opportunities of circularly polarized luminescence (CPL). Highlighting key concepts such as the dissymmetry factor (glum) and molecular design strategies, we discuss advances in CPL efficiency, emerging NIR emitters, solid‐state applications, and the growing role of theory and ...

Net CO2 Emissions From Dry Inland Waters Persist in the Presence of Vegetation

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Many inland waters are shrinking due to shifts in climate and water diversion for human uses. As they dry out, their exposed sediments emit large amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) to the atmosphere. However, current global estimates of CO2 emissions from dry inland waters are derived exclusively from bare sediment dark‐chamber measurements that ...
