Thermomechanical Processing, Microstructure, and Mechanical Properties of Medium‐Mn Steel

open access: yessteel research international
Medium manganese (M‐Mn) steels have been developed to achieve an excellent combination of strength and ductility for automotive components. This study investigates the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of hot‐rolled M‐Mn steels subjected to a thermomechanical control process followed by isothermal holding at different subcritical ...

GAD65 Antibody ELISA With Extended Reportable Range: Validation and Guidance for Neurological Practice

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To (1) validate GAD65‐ELISA detection and quantification for type 1 diabetes mellitus and autoimmune neurological diagnoses, (2) correlate ELISA results (reference range < 5 IU/mL) with established radioimmunoprecipitation assay (RIA; ≤ 0.02 nmol/L), and (3) define ELISA clinical utility and pitfalls.

Added Prognostic Value of EEG Reactivity in Comatose Patients Following Cardiac Arrest

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the added prognostic value of EEG reactivity for favorable outcome compared with background analysis during and after targeted temperature management (TTM). Methods Prospective observational cohort study of comatose post–cardiac arrest patients admitted to a single academic center between 2017 and 2022, all undergoing ...

Austenite stability in medium Mn Q&P steels

open access: yes, 2021
There is a high demand in automotive industry for better fuel efficiency, which is a driving force for the development of 3rd generation advanced high strength steels (AHSS) e.g. quenching and partitioning (Q&P) steels. Medium Mn Q&P steels containing 5 – 10 % Mn have been broadly studied with promising results, but a high Mn content may impose ...

Does Long‐Term Lower Extremity Strength Training in Adults With Knee Osteoarthritis and Varus Alignment Reduce Knee Joint Loading During Gait?

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We examined whether 18 months of strength training in individuals with knee varus alignment and medial tibiofemoral osteoarthritis (OA) reduced knee joint loads during walking compared to an attention control group. Methods This study was a secondary analysis of a randomized clinical trial that compared the effects of strength training to a ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Saving and Growth: A Reinterpretation [PDF]

open access: yes
We examine the relationship between income growth and saving using both cross-country and household data. At the aggregate level, we find that growth Granger causes saving, but that saving does not Granger cause growth. Using household data, we find that
