Dramatic improvement of strain hardening and ductility to 95% in highly-deformable high-strength duplex lightweight steels [PDF]
Ferrite + austenite duplex lightweight steels have been actively developed by adding low-density Al for overcoming a limitation of stiffness deterioration by a traditional approach to obtain a weight reduction.

Activation of a hybrid twinning mechanism in a Cr-Ni-Si-V-N medium manganese austenitic steel containing precipitates [PDF]
Twinning nucleation in a medium Mn austenitic steel containing precipitates is studied at low strain ~ 0.02, using transmission electron microscopy. In the near vicinity of the precipitates, unfaulting dislocation reaction is favored, while twinning is ...

An archaeometric study of Hellenistic glass vessels: evidence for multiple sources [PDF]
In the present study, 53 glass fragments from core-formed vessels and 3 glass beads are investigated using SEM/EDX, EPMA and LA-ICP-MS. All samples were excavated in the Latin settlement of Satricum in central west Italy and apart from two, were found in

Multi-Wavelength Study of a Proto-BCG at z = 1.7
In this work we performed a spectral energy distribution (SED) analysis in the optical/infrared band of the host galaxy of a proto-brightest bluster galaxy (BCG, NVSS J103023 + 052426) in a proto-cluster at z = 1.7.

Probing the Universe with Fast Radio Bursts
Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) represent a novel tool for probing the properties of the universe at cosmological distances. The dispersion measures of FRBs, combined with the redshifts of their host galaxies, has very recently yielded a direct measurement of ...

Microstructures and mechanical properties of three medium-Mn steels processed via quenching and partitioning as well as austenite reversion heat treatments [PDF]
In order to establish the processing conditions to achieve the target of tensile strength of ∼1500 MPa with minimum retained austenite (RA) fraction of 10% in hot-rolled 3–4%Mn medium Mn steels, three hot-deformed steels with the base composition of Fe-0.

We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Microstructural evolution of Mn-based maraging steels and their influences on mechanical properties [PDF]
The microstructural evolution in a set of Mn-based maraging steels (7–12 wt% Mn) when aged at 460–500 ºC for various durations up to 10,080 min and the influences on mechanical properties are systematically investigated.
