Heat treatment strategies for hot-rolled medium-Mn sheet steels
Abstract Heat treatment strategies for advanced high-strength medium-Mn sheet steels are addressed. A review of the available thermal cycles for cold-rolled and hot-rolled sheets are presented. The benefits from the intercritical annealing following hot-rolling are emphasized.

Hydrogen desorption mechanism associated with ε carbide decomposition in martensitic medium-Mn steel
Martensitic medium‐Mn steels have attracted significant attention for their excellent ultimate tensile strength, high ductility, and low austenitizing temperatures but remain susceptible to hydrogen embrittlement (HE).

Study on the organization and properties of medium-Mn steel with V [PDF]
V is an important strengthening element in alloy steels, and its addition to the steel significantly improves the overall performance of the material. This paper describes the principle of V for optimizing the properties of medium-Mn steels.

Local formability of medium-Mn steel
Abstract Global formability and local formability are critical in different metal forming processes. Edge cracking, controlled by the local formability, is a dominant factor limiting the application of advanced high strength steels (AHSS) in automotive industries.

Processing Variants in Medium-Mn Steels [PDF]
This paper highlights some recent efforts to extend the use of medium-Mn steels for applications other than intercritically batch-annealed steels with exceptional ductility (and strengths in the range of about 1000 MPa). These steels are shown to enable a range of promising properties.

Enhancing the Robustness and Efficiency in the Production of Medium Mn Steels by Al Addition
The narrow process window during intercritical annealing and discontinuous yielding have limited the commercialization of medium Mn steels. In this study, a double-annealing process based on the commercial continuous annealing line is proposed.

Effect of C on the superplasticity of medium Mn steel
We investigated the effect of C content on the superplasticity of medium Mn steel through high-temperature tensile testing of Fe–7Mn-(0–0.35)C (wt%) steels at temperatures ranging from 490 °C to 720 °C with an initial strain rate of 1.0 × 10−3 s−1 ...
