Aging changes in the medullary cavity of the proximal femur in American Blacks and Whites

open access: closedAmerican Journal of Physical Anthropology, 1979
AbstractThis study explores changes with age in the medullary cavity in an area of the femur which is becoming of increasing clinical interest. It is based on measurements of medial‐lateral and posterior‐anterior radiographs of the proximal one‐third of the right femur, below the greater trochanter.

Periosteal chondrosarcoma invading the medullary cavity

Skeletal Radiology, 1997
We present a case of periosteal chondrosarcoma of the femur, in which a tumor invaded the medullary cavity and the lesion was clearly demonstrated only on MRI. To the best of our knowledge, there have been no previous reports of an intramedullary lesion caused by periosteal chondrosarcoma demonstrated on MRI.

Catheterization of the Medullary Cavity of Long Bones

Seminars in Musculoskeletal Radiology, 1997
Vascular catheterization techniques were used in bones to allow access to the entire medullary cavity through a minimal percutaneous approach. The study was carried out on human and animal anatomical specimens and in living sheep. After oblique penetration at an angle of approximately 40û to the surface of the cortical bone, we attempted to pass in the

Medullary Cavity Stenosis of the Metacarpals
