Abstract A core drilled through shocked and faulted Archean granitoid gneisses and dolerites in the eroded peak ring of the 70–80 km diameter Morokweng impact structure intersects multiple centimeter‐ to meter‐wide clastic‐matrix breccias containing a polymict clast population of lithic and mineral clasts and altered, millimeter‐ to centimeter ‐size ...

ABSTRACT The archaeological site of Las Estacas Cave (NW Tenerife, Canary Islands) preserves some of the earliest human occupations in Tenerife, dating to the 2nd century CE, spanning the entire pre‐European time range up to the 15th century. Using soil micromorphology, this study applies a geoarchaeological approach to reconstruct site formation ...

Holocene subaqueous landslide dynamics in the Lake Siljan‐Orsasjön Basin, south‐central Sweden
Subaqueous landslide areas studied by multibeam bathymetry, sub‐bottom profiling and sediment coring reveal complex stratigraphies, suggesting mass movement events starting close to the area's deglaciation and up to very recent times. Abstract The Siljan‐Orsasjön Basin in south‐central Sweden hosts two prominent lakes.

Geological structure and magmatism of the Shchuchinsky megablock (Polar Urals)
Purpose of the work: determination of the geological structure, occurences of magmatism and geodynamics of the northernmost isolated segment of the paleooceanic sector of the Ural mobile belt – the Shchuchinsky megablock. Geographic disconnection with the southern structures of the Ural mobile belt and sub-ring structure have led to both a suspended ...

Abstract Regolith samples from the lunar south pole are expected to contain material from the ancient lunar crust and potentially the uppermost mantle, excavated by the South Pole‐Aitken (SPA) impact. In this study, we aim to understand the impact resurfacing processes following the SPA impact and the subsequent redistribution of primordial crust and ...
