Wie bereits ausgefuhrt, lauft die DNA-Synthese wahrend des gesamten Zellzyklus eines Bakteriums. Wahrend sich der DNA-Gehalt verdoppelt, vergrosert sich die Zelle und beginnt mit der Synthese einer trennenden Zellwand in der Mitte der Zelle. Dies dient dazu, die beiden Tochterchromosomen auf die beiden Kompartimente aufzuteilen.

The LW: C3 recombination fraction in female meioses

SummaryNo recombinants between LW and C3, using a C3 DNA probe, were observed in 16 female meioses: z 4·216 at θ= 0·00. Combined with the data of Sistonen (1984) the recombination fraction between LW and C3 is estimated to be 0.09 (Ẑ 3·773) in females.

Chromosome aberrations in mitoses and meioses in vivo

A review on chromosome mutations formed in different phases of the cell cycle permits conclusions on the fate of newly induced aberrations. Chromatid-type aberrations expected by the action of chemical mutagens are likely to be soon eliminated from a cell population. Different mutagens may show different effects.
