Theoretical and Experimental Investigation of Functionalized Cyanopyridines Yield an Anolyte with an Extremely Low Reduction Potential for Nonaqueous Redox Flow Batteries

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 28, Issue 70, December 15, 2022., 2022
Cyanopyridines are reduced at low potentials in organic solvents and are therefore a promising class of molecules for anolytes for nonaqueous redox‐flow batteries (RFBs). Quantum computations suggest that properly placed phenyl and methyl substituents shift the reduction potentials even lower than those of the parent cyanopyridines and prevent ...

Driving conditions dependence of magneto-electroluminescence in tri-(8-hydroxyquinoline)-aluminum based organic light emitting diodes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
we investigated the magneto-electroluminescence (MEL) in tri-(8-hydroxyquinoline)-aluminum based organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) through the steady-state and transient method simultaneously. The MELs show the great different behaviors when we turn the driving condition from a constant voltage to a pulse voltage. For devices driven by the constant

Charge Injection and Transport in an Isoindigo‐Based Polymer Transistor

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents the charge injection and transport properties of field‐effect transistors based on an isoindigo‐bithiophene donor‐acceptor polymer semiconductor contacted with thiolated self‐assembled monolayer (SAM)‐functionalized electrodes. Temperature‐dependent contact characteristics are measured and simulated.

Heterogeneity of the Dominant Causes of Performance Loss in End‐of‐Life Cathodes and Their Consequences for Direct Recycling

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Direct recyling of Li‐ion battery materials promises a low‐cost path towards a secure domestic supply of critical materials for batteries. Using cathode material from an end‐of‐life commercial Li‐ion cell, this work identifies the primary degradation mechanisms that diminish the performance of directly reused cathode materials and includes a discussion

Risk of subsequent primary lymphoma in a cohort of 69,460 five‐year survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer in Europe: The PanCareSurFup study

open access: yesCancer, Volume 129, Issue 3, Page 426-440, 1 February 2023., 2023
Abstract Background Survivors of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) are at risk of developing non‐Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) after treatment; however, the risks of developing subsequent primary lymphomas (SPLs), including HL and NHL, after different types of childhood cancer are unknown.

Mel-Wiener Filter for Mel-LPC Based Speech Recognition

open access: yesIEICE Transactions on Information and Systems, 2007
This paper proposes a Mel-Wiener filter to enhance Mel-LPC spectra in the presence of additive noise. The transfer function of the proposed filter is defined by using a first-order all-pass filter instead of unit delay. The filter coefficients are estimated based on minimization of the sum of the square error on the linear frequency scale without ...

Voice Recognition using Dynamic Time Warping and Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients Algorithms

open access: yes, 2015
Voice recognition is an important and active research area of the recent years. This research aims to build a system for voice recognition using dynamic time wrapping algorithm, by comparing the voice signal of the speaker with pre-stored voice signals ...

A “Cool” Route to Battery Electrode Material Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Ice‐stripping, a novel sub‐zero electrode delamination technique, enables >90% recovery of the electrode materials from manufacturing scrap and end‐of‐life batteries. Water is sprayed upon a porous electrode and quickly freezes when placed on a cold surface. The foil is peeled away, leaving behind the black mass with the morphology retained.

Development in Prescriptions of Contraindicated and Potentially Harmful QT Interval–Prolonging Drugs in a Large Geriatric Inpatient Cohort From 2011 to 2021

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 113, Issue 2, Page 435-445, February 2023., 2023
Regulatory authorities put major emphasis on QT (interval)–prolonging properties of new molecular entities. Product information/Summaries of Product Characteristics (SmPCs) of multiple drugs contain warnings or contraindications regarding QT prolongation, e.g., on coadministration of QT‐prolonging drugs (QT drugs).
