Studies on the Melamine-Formaldehyde Resins
Kobunshi Kagaku, 1958 著者ら1)は先にメチロールメラミンが強アルカリ性で容易にアルコールでアルキル化を受けて水溶性縮合物を形成する事実を知ったのであるが, 本報においてはその組成と反応条件, 処方などの関係を検討した。メチル化反応はアルカリ触媒量を増すとともに容易になり, 微アルカリ性ではほとんど起らない。またその速度はメタノール濃度にも比例し, 初期反応速度の温度依存性から計算した活性化熱は15kcal/mol程度であった。
