Neurocutaneous Melanosis

A case of neurocutaneous melanosis with malignant leptomeningeal melanoma is reported in a 50-year-old white woman. The case is exceptional as regards the late onset of symptoms and death. Although the association of extracutaneous melanomas with cutaneous pigmented lesions is rare, dermatologists must be aware of their presence.

Melanosis of the Larynx

Melanosis Cerebelli

Melanosis cerebelli (melanic pigmentation involving the dentate nuclei and the granular layer of the cerebellar cortex) is described in three patients, aged between 72 and 99 years. In two cases atrophic changes of the Alzheimer type co-existed in the cerebral cortex. One patient had a history of tremors, possibly cerebellar in origin.

Penile melanosis

Five patients with penile melanosis are described. The lesions consisted of macular hyperpigmentation of the penile shaft and/or glans. Histologically only hyperpigmentation of the basal cell layer was observed with no melanocytic hyperplasia.
