Melissopalynological analysis of royal jelly from Greece
Grana, 2013AbstractMicroscopic analysis of 82 royal jelly samples obtained from several locations in Greece was carried out in order to study the pollen spectrum of Greek royal jelly. The analysis recorded over 60 taxa. The abundance of each pollen type varied among the areas and the samples.

Characterization of honeys by melissopalynology and statistical analysis
Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 2002We analyzed pollen from 89 honey samples, collected in León and Palencia provinces (NW Spain). According to their pollen spectra, 46 were considered monofloral. The most abundant monofloral honeys were Erica types followed by Castanea, Centaurea, Reseda and Helianthus.

Melissopalynology for stingless bees (Apidae: Meliponinae) from Venezuela
Journal of Apicultural Research, 1994SUMMARYPollen spectra were obtained for honey samples taken from the nests of 48 Melipona spp. and 20 other stingless bee species at 23 locations in Venezuela from 1987 to 1989. The order of abundance for dominant pollens in Melipona spp. honeys was: Mimosa pudica gr, Scrophulariaceae, Machaerium gr., Avicennia, Myrtaceae, Mimosa scabrella gr., Cassia,

A melissopalynological study of 54 Louisiana (U.S.A.) honeys
Review of Palaeobotany and Palynology, 1972Abstract Pollen analyses were made of 54 commercial Louisiana (U.S.A.) honeys collected during 1967–1968. Fifty-eight different pollen types were identified. A direct correlation was assumed between a plant's pollen quantity and its nectar contribution. On this basis, the major Louisiana honey plants that were determined are: Fabaceae, predominantly

Application of Support Vector Machines to Melissopalynological Data for Honey Classification
International Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Information Systems, 2010In this paper, the authors address the problem of the discrimination of geographical origin and the selection of marker species of honeys using Support Vector Machines and z-scores. The methodology is based on the elaboration of palynological data with statistical learning methodologies.
