ABSTRACT Knowledge gaps remain regarding soil organic carbon (SOC) storage and aggregate dynamics under varying cropland abandonment periods, particularly within the context of degraded and low‐SOC soils. This study aimed to assess the influence of cropping history and the period of cropland abandonment period on SOC, aggregate distribution, and ...

RESULTS OF THE SELECTION OF BREEDING SAMPLES OF CARROT BASED ON BIOCHEMICAL COMPOSITION
12 samples of carrot were analyzed for biochemical components in roots. 5 genotypes with high content of vitamin C, β-carotene, and total sugar were selected as genetic sources of high biochemical components.

Sternbergia candida serves as a flexible reducing agent for the synthesis of SeNPs utilizing an economical and ecologically safe extract. Applications of selenium have demonstrated that plants cultivated in salinity preserve proper osmotic conditions and minimize cellular damage, as evidenced by photosynthetic pigments, proline, and MDA data.

Antbears and underground melons: A highly specialized seed dispersal mutualism mediated by scent
Seed dispersal is critical for the establishment and persistence of populations of most plant species. We investigated the seed dispersal biology of an African melon, Cucumis humifructus, which is closely related to cultivated cucumbers and watermelons but differs in that it buries its fruits deep underground.

Resolving the Nanostructure of Carbon Nitride‐Supported Single‐Atom Catalysts
This study investigates the nanostructure of Ni‐based single‐atom catalysts supported on carbon nitride. By combining synthesis, advanced characterizations, and DFT calculations, the study reveals a new architecture for the nickel active sites, challenging previous models.

Another proof of the $1/N$ expansion of the rank three tensor model with tetrahedral interaction [PDF]
The rank three tensor model with tetrahedral interaction was shown by Carrozza and Tanasa to admit a $1/N$ expansion, dominated by melonic diagrams, and double tadpoles decorated with melons at next-to-leading order. This model has generated a renewed interest in tensor models because it has the same large $N$ limit as the SYK model.

This study proposes a hierarchical fabrication strategy for biomass‐derived aerogels. Chitosan and sodium alginate are assembled into nanofibers via ultrasonication, then forming an anisotropic honeycomb‐like microstructure through freeze casting. Methyltrimethoxysilane modification further enhances the aerogel's strength (105.7 kPa at 80% strain) and ...
