Linking Process‐Induced Degradation to Mechanical Property Deterioration in Flax Fiber–Reinforced Bio‐Polymer Matrix Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue 10, Page 9377-9391, 20 May 2026.
Effect of processing‐induced thermal degradation on the mechanical performance of thermoplastic flax fiber composites. ABSTRACT The drawback of biobased polymer matrix composites (PMCs) is their limited temperature stability, resulting from degradation, which restricts their processability in established composite manufacturing processes requiring ...

An Engineered Living Material With Pro‐Angiogenic Activity Inducible by Near‐Infrared Light

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 40, 18 May 2026.
NIR‐responsive engineered living materials (ELMs) for controlled angiogenesis: Near‐infrared (800 nm) light activates engineered probiotic bacteria within alginate‐based living materials to secrete a blood vessel‐regenerating protein. The released protein promotes pro‐angiogenic effects in endothelial networks and chick chorioallantoic membranes.

Characterisation of Pelletal Lapilli in Explosive Melilitite–Carbonatite Eruptions: An Example from Mt. Vulture Volcano (Southern Italy)

open access: yesGeosciences
Among the volcaniclastic products of melilitite–carbonatite eruptions, pelletal lapilli are often found, resulting in them being particularly useful for characterising the interface between the erupting magma and its volatile component. Pelletal lapilli,

A REVIEW ON MELT GRANULATION TECHNIQUES

open access: yes
In the process of creating pharmaceutical oral dosage forms, granulation is one of the most crucial unit processes. Granulation will enhance flow and compression properties, lessen segregation, increase content uniformity, and get rid of too many tiny particles.

Cascade‐Responsive MXene@Cu‐MOF Heterostructure Integrates Antioxidant Activity, Infection Control, and Vascularization for Tracheal Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 28, 18 May 2026.
A cascade‐responsive MXene@Cu‐MOF/GelMA hydrogel is engineered as a “skeleton–backpack” platform for extensive tracheal repair. The MXene framework scavenges postoperative ROS and converts NIR light into mild hyperthermia, while the Cu‐MOF component provides pH/NIR‐responsive Cu2+ dosing for infection control, angiogenesis, and chondrogenesis.

Development of Sustainable Paver Block to Suit Very Heavy Traffic Conditions Using Cassava Peel Ash

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
Sustainable paver blocks were developed using cassava peel ash and silane‐treated glass fibers. The optimized mix achieved superior strength, durability, and impact resistance, meeting IS 15658:2006 standards for heavy traffic. This eco‐friendly approach highlights an effective use of agro‐waste and fiber reinforcement for sustainable infrastructure ...
