The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.

CONSTRUCTION OF THE MEMBERSHIP FUNCTION OF NORMAL FUZZY NUMBERS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Process Management and New Technologies, 2013
A fuzzy real number [α, β, γ] is an interval around the real number β with the elements in the interval being partially present. Partial presence of an element in a fuzzy set is defined by the name membership function.

An Efficient Ranking Technique for Intuitionistic Fuzzy Numbers with Its Application in Chance Constrained Bilevel Programming

open access: yesAdvances in Fuzzy Systems, 2016
The aim of this paper is to develop a new ranking technique for intuitionistic fuzzy numbers using the method of defuzzification based on probability density function of the corresponding membership function, as well as the complement of nonmembership ...

Membership-Function-Dependent Stability Analysis and Control Synthesis of Guaranteed Cost Fuzzy-Model-Based Control Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fuzzy Systems, 2016
This paper focuses on the guaranteed cost stability analysis of fuzzy-model-based (FMB) control systems. Representing the nonlinear plant using a Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy model, a fuzzy controller is employed to close the feedback loop.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...
