Mechanochemical Strategies Applied to the Late‐Stage Modifications of Pharmaceutically Active Compounds

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
This review explores the potential of mechanochemistry in the late‐stage modification of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), offering a comprehensive analysis of methods designed to transform structurally complex molecular scaffolds. By examining the scope, efficiency, and mechanistic aspects of these approaches, the review highlights protocols ...

An Update: Enzymatic Synthesis for Industrial Applications

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Biocatalysis has become a sustainable and cost‐competitive alternative to established chemical synthesis, enabling the enzyme‐based production of not only commodity chemicals but (non‐natural) amino acids, (rare) sugars, as well as synthetic nucleotides.

Enhancing Flexibility and Adhesion of PVDF Coatings on PVC Textiles via PVDF/PMMA/Plasticizer Blends

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigated improving the flexibility and adhesion of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) coatings on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) textiles by blending PVDF with polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and adding plasticizers. Because PVDF is inherently stiff, blends were prepared with 10 wt%, 30 wt%, and 50 wt% PMMA.

Influence of Six Plasticizers on the Morphology, Crystallinity, and Thermal Properties of Poly(Vinylidene Difluoride) Films

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) is renowned for its durability but suffers from limited flexibility, restricting its use as a protective topcoat on architectural textiles. This study investigated six ester‐based plasticizers at a loading of 50 wt% in a 10 wt% PVDF solution (dissolved in dimethylacetamide at 50°C) to identify an optimal ...
