Membrane Distillation Crystallizer Applied for Separation of NaCl Solutions Contaminated with Oil
In the present study, the membrane crystallizer was used to separate a saturated NaCl solution contaminated with an oil emulsion. The crystallizer was connected via a mesh separator with a feed tank in which capillary submerged modules were assembled ...

Crystallization of membrane proteins
Five new membrane protein structures have been determined since 1995 using X-ray crystallography: bacterial light-harvesting complex; bacterial and mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidases; mitochondrial bc1 complex; and alpha-hemolysin. These successes are partly based on advances in the crystallization procedures for integral membrane proteins.

Pervaporation-assisted crystallization of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)
Crystallization of active pharmaceutical ingredients is essential in pharmaceutical production. Pervaporation, a thermally-driven membrane process, has not been explored in API crystallization.

Crystallization, data collection and data processing of maltose-binding protein (MalE) from the phytopathogen Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri [PDF]
Maltose-binding protein is the periplasmic component of the ABC transporter responsible for the uptake of maltose/maltodextrins. The Xanthomonas axonopodis pv.

Structural divergence of paralogous S components from ECF-type ABC transporters [PDF]
Energy coupling factor (ECF) proteins are ATP-binding cassette transporters involved in the import of micronutrients in prokaryotes. They consist of two nucleotide-binding subunits and the integral membrane subunit EcfT, which together form the ECF ...
