Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Concentration of Hot Water Extracts of Anthocyanins obtained from Muscadine Grape Pomace using Membrane-Osmotic Distillation [PDF]
Anthocyanins are well known for their health-promoting benefits. The goal of this study was to evaluate a distillation-based membrane technology to concentrate aqueous anthocyanins extracted from muscadine grape pomace using polypropylene (PP) or ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

A MODEL TO OPTIMIZE A CRYOGENIC SEPARATION SYSTEM WITH INNOVATIVE HYBRID DISTILLATION MEMBRANE IN SERIES [PDF]
The study developed a model for hybrid distillation membrane that optimized the energy usage in binary cryogenic separation. In separating air mixture components, distillation columns are often used and these columns consumes very large energy during ...

Controlling shell-side crystal nucleation in a gas-liquid membrane contactor for simultaneous ammonium bicarbonate recovery and biogas upgrading [PDF]
A gas–liquid hollow fibre membrane contactor (HFMC) process has been introduced for carbon dioxide (CO2) separation from biogas where aqueous ammonia (NH3) is used to chemically enhance CO2 absorption and initiate heterogeneous nucleation of the reaction

Biofouling phenomena in membrane distillation: mechanisms and mitigation strategies
Membrane distillation (MD) is envisaged as a cost-effective alternative technology for water desalination. When operated by low-grade energy, MD surpasses the cost challenges faced by other water desalination technologies.
