Glycoproteins of the lysosomal membrane. [PDF]
Three glycoprotein antigens (120, 100, and 80 kD) were detected by mono- and/or polyclonal antibodies generated by immunization with highly purified rat liver lysosomal membranes. All of the antigens were judged to be integral membrane proteins based on the binding of Triton X-114.

Glycan structures contain information for the spatial arrangement of glycoproteins in the plasma membrane. [PDF]
Glycoconjugates at the cell surface are crucial for cells to communicate with each other and the extracellular microenvironment. While it is generally accepted that glycans are vectorial biopolymers, their information content is unclear.

Tamoxifen-resistant breast cancer cells exhibit reactivity with Wisteria floribunda agglutinin.
Glycosylation is one of the most important post-translational modifications of cell surface proteins involved in the proliferation, metastasis and treatment resistance of cancer cells.

Human galectin-1 and galectin-3 promote Tropheryma whipplei infection
Tropheryma whipplei, is an actinobacterium that causes different infections in humans, including Whipple’s disease. The bacterium infects and replicates in macrophages, leading to a Th2-biased immune response. Previous studies have shown that T. whipplei

Viral envelope glycoproteins are crucial for viral infections. In the process of enveloped viruses budding and release from the producer cells, viral envelope glycoproteins are presented on the viral membrane surface as spikes, promoting the virus's next-

Fusion of Sendai virus with the target cell membrane is required for T cell cytotoxicity [PDF]
INFECTION of mice with viruses can generate cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) which show restricted specificity for target cell lysis. Specific lysis requires that the virus used to prime the target cells must be of the same type as that used to sensitise ...
