Preparation of PVDF membrane via synergistically vapor and non-solvent-induced phase separation
Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) ultrafiltration (UF) membrane was prepared by vapor and non-solvent-induced phase separation (VNIPS) process, and the relationships between preparation conditions, phase separation behaviors and membrane structures were ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Preparation of a self‐supported zeolite glass composite membrane for CO2/CH4 separation
The low porosity of metal‐organic framework glass makes it difficult to prepare membranes with high permeability. To solve this problem, we fabricated a series of self‐supported zeolite glass composite membranes with different 4A zeolite loadings using ...

Sonicated membrane separation [PDF]
Membrane separation processes are currently proven technologies in many areas. The main limitation of these processes is the accumulation of matter at the membrane surface which leads to two phenomena: concentration polarization and membrane fouling. According to the publications of numerous authors permeate flux could be increased by sonication.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Generation of Nano-Bubbles by NaHCO3 for Improving the FO Membrane Performance
Thin-film composite (TFC) polyamide membranes have a wide range of applications in forward osmosis, but tuning the water flux remains a significant challenge due to concentration polarization.

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...
