Multiscale Fabrication and Characterization of a NEMS Force Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 4, February 19, 2025.
Fabricated silicon nanowires integrated with MEMS shuttle on a silicon‐on‐insulator wafer using novel fabrication technology enable the device to detect subtle multi‐axis forces. Gage factor tests show static manipulation response, while dynamic analysis indicates robustness and high resonant frequency.

Model Design of Piezoelectric Micromachined Modal Gyroscope

open access: yesJournal of Sensors, Volume 2011, Issue 1, 2011., 2011
This paper reports a novel kind of solid‐state microgyroscope, which is called piezoelectric micromachined modal gyroscope (PMMG). PMMG has large stiffness and robust resistance to shake and strike because there is no evident mass‐spring component in its structure.

Temperature drift suppression for micro‐electro‐mechanical system gyroscope based on vibrational‐displacement control with harmonic amplitude ratio

open access: yesMicro &Nano Letters, Volume 19, Issue 1, January 2024.
The drive‐mode vibrational‐displacement amplitude is affected by the signal pickup circuit and structural parameters, which significantly influence the temperature drifts of the bias and scale factor. This study proposes a vibrational‐displacement control method based on harmonic amplitude sideband‐ratio (SBR), namely SBR‐AGC, which characterizes the ...

Gradient-based optimization in nonlinear structural dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
