Curious and analytical: How analysts evaluate and respond to executive communications about firm strategy

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary How do analysts react to communication about firms' strategies? Research has shown that executive communication influences markets, but we know little about reactions to the deeper strategy content communicated. Drawing from research on how evaluative frames and expectation violations shape cognition, we show that when ...

Impact of Structural Heterogeneities in Hierarchically Grown Microribbons on 2D WS2 Monolayer on the Measured Local Hydrogen Evolution Activity on Au Substrate

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Spatially resolved SECCM measurements reveal that hierarchically grown microribbons on 2D WS2 drastically suppress local HER activity. Relative to the basal plane of the 2D monolayer directly supported on an Au substrate, single‐layer and multilayer microribbons exhibit more than a ∼5‐fold and >10‐fold decrease in current density, respectively.

Impact of the Gas Atmosphere at the Triple Boundary Phase on the Measured Oxygen Evolution Reaction Activity of Ni2B/Ni3B Electrocatalysts

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
This study reveals the impact of gas convection and its composition on the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalytic activity of Ni‐B catalysts using scanning electrochemical cell microscopy (SECCM). Applying a controlled protective Ar atmosphere, and using a well‐defined Ni‐B specimen, containing Ni3B and Ni2B phases, it is revealed that Ni3B ...

Nanostructuring Copper Tungstate Photoanodes: Performance Enhancement and Fundamental Limitations

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
Nanostructuring of CuWO4 photoanodes yields a ~ tenfold photocurrent enhancement compared to dense films, reaching 0.6 mA cm−2 at 1.23 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode, among the best values reported for this material. Yet, performance remains far below the theoretical limit due to severe bulk recombination and poor electron transport ...

A novel circumscription and classification for Neurolaeneae (Asteraceae)

open access: yesTAXON, EarlyView.
Abstract Neurolaeneae (Asteraceae) have a complicated taxonomic history. The tribe was described in 1927, but subsequently disregarded in 1977, and later reinstated as a tribe following a large‐scale phylogenetic analysis of Asteraceae in 2002. To date, this tribe has remained poorly studied and it has never been the subject of a comprehensive ...
