Falcotentorial meningiomas are uncommon tumors that account for 1%-2% of all intracranial meningiomas. They arise at the junction of the falx cerebri and tentorium, from the entry of the vein of Galen posteriorly to the confluence of venous sinuses. Treatment for these tumors depends on patient and tumor factors. Tumor factors include size of the tumor,

Twenty-two cases of unusual intracranial meningioma associated with a cyst are reported and 144 published cases reviewed. The complex mechanisms leading to the formation of the cyst within the meningioma are analyzed on the basis of the surgical and histopathological evidence.

Parasagittal meningiomas are defined as meningiomas that grow into at least one wall of the superior sagittal sinus. Long- and short-term morbidity is, in addition to cortical function, related to management of venous structures and flow. Clinical management needs to address the extent of removal in the sinus wall and to address relations to the ...

The authors discuss the criteria of differential diagnosis for a correct use of the term "multiple meningiomas". Reviewing a series of 934 meningiomas, of which 834 were intracranial and 100 were spinal, they found 14 cases of multiple meningiomas, i.e. an incidence of 1.5%.

Intraventricular meningiomas are most often seen in the lateral ventricles of adults, more often on the left than on the right. A variety of surgical approaches can be selected depending on patient and tumor factors as well as on surgeon preference.

Chordoid meningioma is a relatively rare variant that is often associated with peritumoral lymphoplasmacellular infiltration causing Castleman syndrome (CS). We present a 44-year-old woman with chordoid meningioma not associated with CS. The patient presented with epilepsy and right hemiparesis (Todd's palsy) on admission.

Current Treatment Options in Neurology, 2004
Meningiomas are extra-axial brain tumors of middle to late adult life, and they have a female predominance. Overall, 90% of meningiomas are benign, 6% are atypical, and 2% are malignant. Most patients diagnosed with a meningioma decide to have it removed surgically and are advised to do so based on their neurologic symptoms. Complete surgical resection

Meningioma was diagnosed in four women, aged 40, 24, 41 and almost 75 years, respectively. The first of these patients was treated with surgery, the second and third patients underwent surgery followed by conventional radiotherapy because of a tumour residue or dural tail, and the last patient was treated with stereotactic radiosurgery.
