Bilateral Discoid Medial Menisci: Two Different Types in One Patient and Bony Changes on the Medial Tibial Plateau

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association, 2011
A discoid medial meniscus is a relatively rare pathology of the knee joint, and bilateral cases are extremely rare. We present one case of bilateral symptomatic discoid medial menisci. Arthroscopy revealed a complete type of discoid medial meniscus in one knee and an incomplete type in the other knee.

Nerve Growth Factor is Sufficient to Cause Multiple Osteoarthritis‐Relevant Pathologic Features in Naïve Murine Knee Joints

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Nerve growth factor (NGF), a key mediator of pain, is increased in osteoarthritic (OA) joints. Antibodies against NGF show analgesic effects in painful knee OA, but clinical development was stopped because of side effects in the joints. Knowledge about the biologic effects of NGF on joint tissues is limited. Therefore, we explored the effects

Arthroscopic Three Hybrid Anchor Construct Fixation in Skeletally Immature Patients With Tibial Eminence Fractures

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract This article describes a surgical technique for skeletally immature patients with tibial eminence fractures of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) insertion. Owing to the distinct anatomical characteristics in skeletally immature patients compared with adults, we arthroscopically implanted a three hybrid anchor construct into the posterior ...
