Innervation of nociceptors in intact human menisci along the longitudinal axis: semi-quantitative histological evaluation and clinical implications

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2019
Background The mechanism of pain after meniscus injury remains unknown. After injury, some individuals suffered from acute pain, while others suffer from delayed pain.

WTAP‐Mediated m6A Modification Targets the LRP1‐Lipid Metabolism Axis to Regulate Joint Cartilage Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
WTAP drives cartilage regeneration by activating an LRP1‐dependent lipid metabolic program in macrophages, enhancing IL‐10 and TGF‐β secretion to promote chondrogenic differentiation. Leveraging this mechanism, virtual screening identifies LRP1‐targeting compounds that effectively stimulate cartilage repair, highlighting a druggable epigenetic ...

Cluster evolution in steady-state two-phase flow in porous media

open access: yes, 2006
We report numerical studies of the cluster development of two-phase flow in a steady-state environment of porous media. This is done by including biperiodic boundary conditions in a two-dimensional flow simulator.

Advanced Multiscale Modeling for Revealing Anomalous Fluid Transport Induced by Confinement Interfacial Layer Reconstruction in Sub‐10 nm Space

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrating experimental insights with molecular dynamics simulations, we establish an advanced mathematical model for fluids confined in sub‐10‐nm channels, enabling quantitative prediction of interfacial layer thickness and viscosity by accounting for channel material, temperature, and fluid properties.

Meniscal Tearing after ACL Reconstruction

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery, 2000
The knees of 72 patients with unilateral anterior-cruciate-ligament (ACL) injury were analyzed before ACL reconstruction as well as by follow-up arthroscopy on the day of staple removal. At ACL reconstruction 31 lateral menisci and 40 medial menisci were

Structure—Function relationships of equine menisci

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2018
Meniscal pathologies are among the most common injuries of the femorotibial joint in both human and equine patients. Pathological forces and ensuing injuries of the cranial horn of the equine medial meniscus are considered analogous to those observed in the human posterior medial horn.

Making Sweat Measurable: Induction, Sampling, and Refreshment in Wearable Biofluid Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Wearable sweat sensing relies not only on chemical detection but also on controlled biofluid management. This Review integrates sweat physiology, induction strategies, and microfluidic sampling architectures, demonstrating how flux, transport, and refreshment shape measurement reliability.

Improved Direct Ink Writing of Liquid Metal Foams via Liquid Additives

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The ability to pattern liquid metal is useful for making soft electrical and thermal devices. Dispensing liquid metal from a nozzle naturally results in the formation of spheroidal droplets, making direct‐write printing challenging. Liquid metal foams containing pockets of air can extrude as filaments, albeit inconsistently.
