Biological mechanism of sex differences in mental rotation: Evidence from multimodal MRI, transcriptomic and receptor/transporter data

open access: yesNeuroImage
Sex differences in mental rotation are a well-documented phenomenon in cognitive research, with implications for the differing prevalence of neuropsychiatric disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Alzheimer's disease (AD) and major depressive ...

Novel 4,5‐Dihydrothiazole‐Phenylpiperazine Derivatives: Synthesis, Docking Studies and Pharmacological Evaluation as Serotonergic Agents

open access: yesChemMedChem, EarlyView.
The synthesis of a new series of 4,5‐dihydrothiazol‐2‐ylphenylpiperazine derivatives as serotoninergic ligands is described and tested for their affinity toward 5‐HT1A, 5‐HT2A,and 5‐HT2C and selected for further in vivo assays to determine their functional activity. The pharmacological studies highlight that among the developed derivatives, FG‐7 and FG‐

Variation in Neurodegeneration‐Linked Brain Regions in Young Adult APOE E4 Carriers With Spina Bifida

open access: yesAnnals of the Child Neurology Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Possible pleiotropic effects of apolipoprotein E4 (APOE E4) in individuals with congenital brain malformations are relatively unknown. Our goal was to determine if neurodegeneration‐linked brain region volumes differ significantly between E4 carriers and noncarriers in young adults with spina bifida (SB). Methods Eleven individuals (

Analytical and Pharmacological Characterization of 1‐(Furan‐2‐Carbonyl)‐LSD (1F‐LSD) and Comparison With 1‐(Thiophene‐2‐Carbonyl)‐LSD (1T‐LSD)

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
The novel lysergamide 1‐(furan‐2‐carbonyl)‐LSD (1F‐LSD) was analytically characterized. 1F‐LSD showed LSD‐like activity in vivo similar to 1‐(thiophene‐2‐carbonyl)‐LSD (1T‐LSD) used for comparison. Administration studies in mice and LC–MS analysis revealed that 1F‐LSD served as a prodrug.
