Partially-supervised Mention Detection
Learning to detect entity mentions without using syntactic information can be useful for integration and joint optimization with other tasks. However, it is common to have partially annotated data for this problem. Here, we investigate two approaches to deal with partial annotation of mentions: weighted loss and soft-target classification.

A Local Detection Approach for Named Entity Recognition and Mention Detection [PDF]
In this paper, we study a novel approach for named entity recognition (NER) and mention detection (MD) in natural language processing. Instead of treating NER as a sequence labeling problem, we propose a new local detection approach, which relies on the recent fixed-size ordinally forgetting encoding (FOFE) method to fully encode each sentence fragment

Highly Sensitive Electrochemical Detection of Azithromycin with Graphene-Modified Electrode
An electrochemical cell containing two graphite rods was filled with the appropriate electrolyte (0.2 M ammonia + 0.2 M ammonium sulphate) and connected to the exfoliation system to synthesize graphene (EGr).

Angina de peito. Isquemia silenciosa.
One of the most difficult problems related to coronary artery disease is the detection and eventual treatment of silent myocardial ischemia (SMI). After defining the concept of SMI and total ischemia burden, the author approaches the pathophysiology of ...

Designing and fabrication of electrochemical nano-biosensor for the fast detection of SARS-CoV-2-RNA
SARS-CoV-2 caused a global panic among populations. Rapid diagnostic procedures for the virus are crucial for disease control. Thus, the designed signature probe from a highly conserved region of the virus was chemically immobilized onto the ...

Use Generalized Representations, But Do Not Forget Surface Features [PDF]
Only a year ago, all state-of-the-art coreference resolvers were using an extensive amount of surface features. Recently, there was a paradigm shift towards using word embeddings and deep neural networks, where the use of surface features is very limited.

Supermassive black holes or boson stars? Hair counting with gravitational wave detectors [PDF]
The evidence for supermassive Kerr black holes in galactic centers is strong and growing, but only the detection of gravitational waves will convincingly rule out other possibilities to explain the observations. The Kerr spacetime is completely specified
