European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

The gravitational Vavilov-Cherenkov effect

open access: yes, 1998
In this essay we show that an uncharged black-hole moving superluminally in a transparent dielectric medium violates Hawking's area theorem. The violation is overcome through the emission of radiation. Since modes cannot emerge from the black hole itself,

Can twitter replace newswire for breaking news? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Twitter is often considered to be a useful source of real-time news, potentially replacing newswire for this purpose. But is this true? In this paper, we examine the extent to which news reporting in newswire and Twitter overlap and whether Twitter often

DMDD: A Large-Scale Dataset for Dataset Mentions Detection

open access: yesTransactions of the Association for Computational Linguistics, 2023
Abstract The recognition of dataset names is a critical task for automatic information extraction in scientific literature, enabling researchers to understand and identify research opportunities. However, existing corpora for dataset mention detection are limited in size and naming diversity.

Treatment Decision‐Making Roles and Preferences Among Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Decision‐making (DM) dynamics between adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer, parents, and oncologists remain underexplored in diverse populations. We examined cancer treatment DM preferences among an ethnically and socioeconomically diverse group of AYAs and their parents.

THE TRIPLET MEASURED BY AERIAL CAMERA USING LINE SEGMENTS LINE MATCHING-BASED RELATIVE ORIENTATION USING TRIPLET CAMERA [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2015
In urgent observations after disasters, we can mention that the image matching processing is an essential technique to establish more stable and rapid 3D data generation. Particularly, multi-images taken from various viewpoints are useful in the disaster

Comparison of Radar Signatures from a Hybrid VTOL Fixed-Wing Drone and Quad-Rotor Drone

open access: yesDrones, 2022
Current studies rarely mention radar detection of hybrid vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) fixed-wing drones. We investigated radar signals of an industry-tier VTOL fixed-wing drone, TX25A, compared with the radar detection results of a quad-rotor ...

Reinforcement Learning for Transition-Based Mention Detection

open access: yes, 2017
This paper describes an application of reinforcement learning to the mention detection task. We define a novel action-based formulation for the mention detection task, in which a model can flexibly revise past labeling decisions by grouping together tokens and assigning partial mention labels.
