Iron(III)‐loaded cation exchange resin: A dual approach for aqueous H2S removal and biogas desulphurization

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Left: Desulphurization method application. Right: Novel desulphurization method. Abstract The presence of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) in biogas poses significant environmental and operational challenges due to its corrosive and toxic properties. Thus, this study aimed to develop a dual‐function desulphurization system using a cation exchange resin (CIER ...

The Influence of Drosophila Spire and Myosin V During Mid‐Oogenesis Is Independent of Their Direct Interaction

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cooperativity between cytoskeletal proteins is crucial for spatiotemporal coordination in biological processes, like oogenesis. In mammalian and Drosophila oogenesis, proper assembly and function of actin networks require coordination between actin assembly factors Spire and formins, as well as actin‐associated proteins like myosins and Rab ...

Diurnal preference and sleep quality: same genes? A study of young adult twins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The aims of this study were to examine the genetic and environmental influences on diurnal preference and sleep quality, the association between these phenotypes, the genetic and environmental influences on this association, and the magnitude of overlap ...

Registered Clinical Trials of Ayahuasca and DMT: A Scoping Review

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Interest in ayahuasca and its main component, N,N‐Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), has currently moved from historical and experimental use into modern clinical development. Yet, current evidence is fragmented, and systematic mapping of trial methods and design choices remains limited.

Nylon 4,I: an amorphous polyamide [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
The melt polymerization of nylon 4, I was studied, starting with nylon-salt and nylon prepolymers (ηinh=0.25). With nylon-salt only low molecular polymers were obtained, while with prepolymers the inherent viscosity could be raised to 0.77 (3h, 270°, vac.

MELD score predicts outcomes in patients with advanced heart failure: A longitudinal evaluation

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 839-847, April 2025.
Abstract Aims Advanced heart failure (AHF) is characterized by recurrent episodes of haemodynamic instability and frequent hospitalizations, leading to a progressive decline in quality of life and high mortality rates. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effect of the model for end‐stage liver disease (MELD) score and its variations in ...

A Game-Theoretic Framework for Optimum Decision Fusion in the Presence of Byzantines

open access: yes, 2015
Optimum decision fusion in the presence of malicious nodes - often referred to as Byzantines - is hindered by the necessity of exactly knowing the statistical behavior of Byzantines.

Machine learning‐based prediction of elevated N terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide among US general population

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 859-868, April 2025.
Abstract Aims Natriuretic peptide‐based pre‐heart failure screening has been proposed in recent guidelines. However, an effective strategy to identify screening targets from the general population, more than half of which are at risk for heart failure or pre‐heart failure, has not been well established.

Vortex Lattice Depinning vs. Vortex Lattice Melting: a pinning-based explanation of the equilibrium magnetization jump

open access: yes, 2000
In this communication we argue that the Vortex Lattice Melting scenario fails to explain several key experimental results published in the literature.

Implementation of guideline‐recommended medical therapy for patients with heart failure in Europe

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 790-798, April 2025.
Abstract Physicians' adherence to guideline‐recommended heart failure (HF) treatment remains suboptimal, especially regarding the target doses. In particular, there is evidence that non‐cardiologists are less compliant with HF guideline recommendations. This is likely to have a detrimental impact on patients' survival, readmissions and quality of life.
