Paraquat Poisoning: A Case of Daisley–Barton Syndrome and Hepatorenal Failure
ABSTRACT Paraquat (PQ) is a highly toxic herbicide that causes severe poisoning. It mainly affects the lungs, liver, and kidneys. When ingested intentionally, it has a high mortality rate due to the absence of an effective antidote. We present a rare case of a 35‐year‐old female with deliberate ingestion of paraquat for a suicide attempt.

Deciphering Persistent D‐Dimer Elevation in Paraquat Poisoning: A Mortality Assessment Case Study
ABSTRACT A 74‐year‐old woman accidentally ingested an unknown amount of paraquat without suicidal intent. Quickly presenting with dysphagia and tongue and oral mucosa burns, she sought medical care. Admitted to the intensive care unit, by the third day of hospitalization, due to the need to be evaluated for respiratory problems.
