Study of jet precession, recirculation and vortex breakdown in turbulent swirling jets using LES. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Large eddy simulations (LES) are used to investigate turbulent isothermal swirling flows with a strong emphasis on vortex breakdown, recirculation and instability behaviour.

Simulating general relativity and non-commutative geometry by non-paraxial quantum fluids

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2019
We show that quantum fluids enable experimental analogs of relativistic orbital precession in the presence of non-paraxial effects. The analysis is performed by the hydrodynamic limit of the Schrödinger equation.

Perihelion Precession and Deflection of Light in the General Spherically Symmetric Spacetime

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2014
The perihelion precession and deflection of light have been investigated in the 4-dimensional general spherically symmetric spacetime, and the master equation is obtained.

Constraining interactions mediated by axion-like particles with ultracold neutrons

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2015
We report a new limit on a possible short range spin-dependent interaction from the precise measurement of the ratio of Larmor precession frequencies of stored ultracold neutrons and Hg199 atoms confined in the same volume.

Solar system tests in constraining parameters of dyon black holes

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2018
In the present paper we examine the possibility of constraining dyon black holes based on the available observational data at the scale of the Solar system.

Magnetization transfer imaging using steady-state free precession MR sequences [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) benefits from an exceptional soft tissue contrast and is therefore an important tool for medical diagnosis. While contrast in conventional MRI is generated by protons with free mobility, magnetization transfer (MT ...

Effective apsidal precession from a monopole solution in a Zipoy spacetime

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2019
In this work, we examine the orbit equations originated from Zipoy’s oblate metric. Accordingly, the solution of Einstein’s vacuum equations can be written as a linear combination of Legendre polynomials of positive definite integers l. Starting from the

New general relativistic contributions to Mercury’s orbital elements and their measurability

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
We numerically and analytically work out the first-order post-Newtonian (1pN) orbital effects induced on the semimajor axis a, the eccentricity e, the inclination I, the longitude of the ascending node $$\Omega $$ Ω , the longitude of perihelion $$\varpi

Revisiting the 2PN Pericenter Precession in View of Possible Future Measurements

open access: yesUniverse, 2020
At the second post-Newtonian (2PN) order, the secular pericenter precession ω ˙ 2 PN of either a full two-body system made of well-detached non-rotating monopole masses of comparable size and a restricted two-body system composed of a point
