Improved Autotetraploid Induction Methods in Four Diploid Wild Peanut Species: Arachis duranensis, A. stenosperma, A. magna, and A. batizocoi

open access: yesPlant Breeding, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L., 2n = 4x = 40, AABB) is an important legume crop worldwide. Wild peanuts (Arachis spp.) represent a valuable secondary gene pool with diverse disease resistances. However, most wild peanut species are diploid (2n = 2x = 20) and this ploidy barrier is a major obstacle to hybridization and gene introgression.

Purification of Some Grape Cultivar (Vitis vinifera L.) and Rootstock Clones Eliminated from Viruses with Thermotherapy and Meristem Culture

open access: yesTrakya University Journal of Natural Sciences, 2016
Turkey, one of the few important countries in the world concerning the total area of the vineyards and grape production is not in a desired level considering the amount of grape yield per unit area.

Leaf Structure and Hormonal Balance Modulate Host‐Specificity and Pathogenicity of Botrytis cinerea

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Botrytis cinerea, a highly successful necrotrophic fungal plant pathogen, demonstrates a remarkably broad host range, yet the precise factors governing its host specificity and its ability to coexist non‐pathogenically with plants remain unclear. This study systematically assessed host preference in a series of B. cinerea agricultural isolates,

Spatiotemporal Dynamics of Cytosolic NADPH in Living Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In plants, an adequate supply of Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) in the cytosol is crucial for maintaining a variety of biosynthetic and antioxidant reactions. Cytosolic NADPH is mainly generated via four enzymatic pathways: NADP‐dependent malic dehydrogenase (NADP‐ME), cytosolic oxidative pentose phosphate pathway (cOPPP),

Histology study of the somatic embryogenesis in Agave fourcroydes Lem.

open access: yesBiotecnología Vegetal, 2002
A histological study of the structures embryogenic formed from meristem of Agave fourcroydes, with the objective of observing the behavior of the somatic embryogenesis from the induction until the formation of the embryo was carried out.

Introduction and multiplication in vitro of garlic culture var. Morado Barranquino

open access: yesRevista Peruana de Biología, 2013
We determine the effect of modified culture medium using different growth regulators concentrations (auxins / cytokinins) for regeneration and propagation of in vitro garlic plants (Allium sativumL.) var. ‘Morado Barrran-quino’.

Lotus japonicus CLV1‐Like Receptor HAR1 Promotes Nitrogen Utilisation and Growth Under Non‐Symbiotic Conditions

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Legumes establish mutualistic symbiosis with nitrogen (N)‐fixing bacteria, which allows them to utilise atmospheric N2. Because the maintenance of symbiosis requires abundant carbon (C) sources, legumes regulate the balance between carbon consumption and nitrogen acquisition by systemically controlling the nodule number through CLAVATA1 (CLV1)‐

Establishment of a Rapid Plant Regeneration System in <i>Physalis angulata</i> L. through Axillary Meristems

open access: yesNotulae Scientia Biologicae, 2015
An optimal plant propagation method of Physalis angulata L., a medicinally important herbaceous plant species has been developed using axillary meristem explants. Shoot bud proliferation was initiated from axillary meristem explants cultured on MS medium

Biotransformation of monoterpenols upon pre‐treatment with oregano essential oil vapour alleviates downy mildew susceptibility in grapevine leaves

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Pre‐treatment of grapevine plants with oregano essential oil vapour alleviates downy mildew susceptibility by accumulation of monoterpenol glycosides. Abstract Grapevine downy mildew, caused by the oomycete Plasmopara viticola, is a destructive disease that causes major economic losses as most elite grapevine cultivars are susceptible to this pathogen.
